In this episode, Jill interviews Dr. Alex Ketchum about her open-access book Engage in Public Scholarship! We investigate what public scholarship is and the various digital tools and platforms that exist for public scholarship. We examine some of the pros and cons that come with using one platform over another. We cover some of the things scholars should consider in order to ensure that their scholarship is accessible and is going to reach their intended audience. And we discuss both the academic and social challenges that exist for scholars who wish to engage in public scholarship. Lastly, Dr. Ketchum tells us why it is so vital for scholars and institutions to start prioritizing public scholarship now!
